Project Linus Sewing Evening

In August we had our annual Project Linus sewing evening.  This time we sewed lots of 2.5” squares together to make 16-patches which were then sewn together.  People either got blue and neutral or red, grey and neutral.

Chris kindly brought goodies from the Bloodwise shop for people to buy.

Some people couldn’t bring their machines so used the evening for networking, or joining squares by hand.  Every little helps!

Here is a blue table hard at work.  Di was the gopher, ironing and advising, plus keeping everyone supplied with squares.

We got out the Accuquilt cutter to cut more strips and squares.  Ann was hard at work on this task. We have a 2.5” strip cutter, where you can cut your own jellyroll strips.  What a money saver!

This is a busy red and grey group.  This colour combination is great for quilts for older children.

Caroline looks like she’s asleep, but don’t be fooled!  She’s really speedy Gonzales!

Betty cut more squares while June supervised.

Everyone was beavering away for a full hour.

And here are the results of the labours.  Two tops ready to border and quilt to give snuggles to two lucky children.  Thank you so much to all who contributed.  It's a great result!
